What We Believe
Henderson Street Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southwest Metroplex Baptist Association,
the Baptist General Convention of Texas, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
Southern Baptists are a network of churches who profess a living faith that is rooted in
Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The sole authority for our faith
is the Holy Scriptures, which consist of the Old Testament and the New Testament.
WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
WE BELIEVE that there is one God that eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His Virgin Birth; in His sinless life; in His atoning death
through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection;
in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His Second Coming.
WE BELIEVE that for the salvation of humanity, regeneration through the Holy Spirit is essential,
and repentance from sin through the acceptance
of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to eternal life.
